Dare to Be a Daniel
Jesus promises that, “In this world you will have trouble,” John 16:33. Standing up for moral and spiritual ideals in the workplace, home, and with friends can be daunting and difficult. But, like Daniel and his three friends, we can choose to stand firm.
This Sabbath, Dr. Philip Samaan, a professor of religion at Southern Adventist University, presents his new book, Dare to Be a Daniel, and talks about an empowering relationship with God in today’s world of moral relativism and compromise.
This all day presentation comes on the heels of a Daniel Bible study ANC is finishing that began in October. The small group study was originally a follow up to the depression and recovery program that ANC began in August. Around six to ten people regularly attended this study, with around four non-members who attended. In general, Daniel and Revelation studies continue to interest the community around our church.
This Sabbath, the Daniel seminar is focused on inreach, but all are invited, of course. Dr. Samaan was a former professor at Andrews University, a missionary to Africa, and a previous chief editor of the adult Sabbath school quarterly. A special focus will be on how God will empower the final remnant. John 16:33 also says, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
